Larry D. Carroll, 73, of Temple Hills, MD passed away peacefully at his home on December 13, 2015. He was born December 7, 1942 in Washington, DC to Lester and Dorothy (Brown) Carroll. Larry was a Seabee in the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge on June 21, 1966. He was a Union heavy equipment operator for Local 77 for more than thirty years. Larry had a passion for being on the open road riding his Harley Davidson. He took many long road trips on his bike. He was a fan of the Washington Redskins and a dog lover. Larry had a great group of friends and loved spending time with them. He was a kind, gentle and loving man and always made himself available to help someone in need. He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Dorothy Carroll, a sister, Avonelle Kerin, and a brother in-law, Corby Kerin. Larry is survived by his daughters, Shelley Polko (John), Sherry Dennison (Dink) and Shirley Posten, a nephew, Kurt Kerin (Susan), a niece, Linsey Kerin, a great-niece, two great nephews, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild, as well as his many friends. Visitation is Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, MD, from 11:00am - 12:30pm. A memorial service will follow at 12:30pm. Interment will be at Cheltenham Veteran’s Cemetery at 1:45pm at 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623.
