It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love we announce the passing of Larry O. Moltumyr, age 82, on February 19, 2025, at his home in Brandywine, Maryland. Born on March 22, 1942, in Moorhead, Minnesota, Larry lived a life full of love, dedication, and service..
Larry was the beloved husband of Mary Ellen, with whom he shared a marriage filled with love and laughter and rooted in Matthew 19:6.
He and his beloved first wife, Joyce, are the proud and devoted parents of David (Dawn), Pamela, and Jonathan (Evelyn) and grandparents to eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. All brought Larry sheer joy.
Larry is also survived by his siblings Bruce (Nancy) and Steve (Becky), with whom he shared a lifelong bond as well as “double” cousins (Brenda, Warren, Terry and Linda). He is also survived by his Aunt Betty and many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his first wife, Joyce, his parents, sister, Shirley, and brother, Marlyn. In addition, Larry was predeceased by his nephew, Greg and niece, Tamara, and many others including his Aunt Ruth.
A man of faith and education, Larry earned his bachelor’s degree from William Jennings Bryan University. He devoted much of his professional life to serving the community, working with dedication at Clinton Christian School, where he touched the lives of countless students and families.
Larry’s love for his family and his commitment to his faith were at the center of his life. He was a humble, kind, and generous soul, always putting others first and making the world a better place through his actions. He was passionate about sharing the message of salvation and in his later years, personally distributed over 15,000 “Heaven” pamphlets at local Metro stations (a special thanks to those who supported this calling).
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have had him in their lives.
Rest in peace, Larry. Your light will shine forever in our hearts.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
