La Verne M. Alleyne was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, one of eight children to Herbert
and Margaret Griffith. La Verne’s formal education was high school/college in
Jacksonville, FL and New York. La Verne worked as a Banker and an Insurance Claims
Specialist.
La Verne was an intelligent and beautiful soul. She was an “Ardent” Pittsburgh Steeler
Fan. She loved advocating and caring for people and loved animals. She was well known
for her sense of humor, infectious laughter, her inspiration towards others and
straightforwardness. La Verne is a blessing and an inspiration to us all.
La Verne leaves to mourn her husband of 42 years Randy, her daughter, Nicole and son-
in-law Davon. Sisters, Eloise De Quintal and Arlene G. Curl, brothers, Kenneth, Leslie
and Uriah Griffith. Sisters-in-laws, Maxine, Marie, Glenda and Hermin Alleyne, Annette
Merritt, Natalie Charles and Deana and Janice Griffith. Brothers-in-laws, Theodore
Young, Carl and Henderson Alleyne.
Nieces and Nephews, Denene, Simon, Keadra, Cory, birthday twin Vivienne, Randy,
Michele, Kevin, Venette, Michael, Louis, Brian, Sharmand, Andri, Jessica, Victor and
Richard. Niece and Goddaughter Leilia.
Extended Family, son Greg and Karen Battle, and brother, Keith and Pam Patterson.
As well as a plethora of friends and relatives.
