Lawrence Hallman, affectionately known as Buzzy to family and Larry to friends, was born on April 13, 1935. He was the 8th of 12 children born to the late John and Florence Hallman. He graduated from George Washington Carver High School and enlisted in the Air Force where he served for 20 years. He spent the next 20 years working for the District of Columbia Department of Human Services as the Branch Chief. He was a Vietnam Vet and a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 20 years where he served as an Educational Officer and was part of the search and rescue team.
Larry loved to fish, crab and take his beloved 30-foot cruiser (Bay 30) out on the Chesapeake. He was a consummate gardener, a terrific dancer and a die-hard Commanders fan. He never missed a football game or a dance concert that his grandchildren were in. He was dependable, loyal, respectful and compassionate. He was a friend to everyone, and everyone was his friend.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Linda, son-in-law John, Grandchildren John Lawrence, Midori and Tyler, brother Joe, sisters Nancy and Rose and a host of relatives and friends.
