Lelia Frances Zollinhofer

"Lelia Frances Downs Wallace Patterson Zollinhofer passed away peacefully at home on November 28, 2022. She was born in Cherrydale, VA on September 2, 1927 to Henry Downs and Delia Frances Middleton. Lelia married three times and was widowed in her second marriage. She had five children Delia Anne Wallace Mikkelson, Gail Elaine Patterson, Robert Lamar Patterson, Gloria Jean Patterson, and Lee Marie Zollinhofer Steinberger. She was preceded in death by her late husband Richard Patterson, her brother Howard Downs, sister Doris Downs and two eldest children, Delia and Gail. She is survived by one sibling, her sister Virginia Eggleston; three of her living children Robert, Gloria and Lee Marie; and by six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. A service of life celebration and remembrance will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. A viewing will be held prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. Lelia will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with her late husband in a later ceremony.
