Leoncia Perada Andal, age 95, of Upper Marlboro, MD passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at home with her family. She was born on December 6, 1923 to the late Laureano and Juana Perada. Originally a native from Rosario Batangas, Philippines; she migrated to the United States in 1980. She was the wife of the late Braulio Andal, Sr.; who passed away in 1963. In that beloved union they bore 6 children: Ligaya Andal (deceased), Braulio Andal, Jr. (Esther), Fe Villapando (Mel), Evelyn Abrigonda (Edwin), Rodolfo Andal (Lynette) and Melba Davis (Lonnie). From these unions, she had 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Leoncia also leaves behind two brothers, a sister, and extended relatives and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. “Nanay” (Mother) to all. Always fashionable, she turned this flair for and love of fashion into a life-long career. Working as a seamstress, she owned her own business when she lived in the Philippines. In this capacity, as a single mother, working countless hours, she provided for and raised her kids. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, babysitting, and watching soap operas-her favorite being General Hospital. Ever the fashionista, she enjoyed fashion and loved talking about it. You would often see her color coordinating her own outfits in her favorite color-Green. The family will receive relatives and friends at Lee Funeral Home, Inc., 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Road, Clinton, MD 20735 on Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, December 9, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 11AM at St. Mary of the Assumption; 14908 Main Street, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772; with a 1 hour viewing prior to the service. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD.
