Leslie Howard Kemmerer

August 25, 1951 — September 16, 2010

Leslie Howard Kemmerer\nLeslie H. Kemmerer passed from this life into an eternity in Heaven with the Lord on Thursday, September 16, 2010. At the time of his death, he was surrounded by his treasured wife, Nancy, and his three children, Jennifer Worrell (Stan), Jeremy (Jill), and Justin (Allison). Les was survived by four grandchildren, Emily, Matthew, and Zachary Worrell and Will Kemmerer, as well as his siblings, Darlene, Janet Mather (Thomas), James, Paul (Karen), and Loretta.\n \nBorn to Elwood and Naomi Kemmerer in 1951, Les spent his childhood in the state of New York, where his father pastored many churches. After graduating from Baptist Bible College of PA, Les taught at West Seneca Christian School in West Seneca, NY for 32 years—one of the school’s original teachers. There he met his wife and raised his family. In 2006, Les and Nancy moved to Upper Marlboro, Maryland, to continue their teaching and coaching of students at Clinton Christian School.\n \nHe was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. As he battled cancer this past year, his love for God, his church, and every person with whom he came in contact was clearly evident. He believed that he had been chosen and redeemed from sin through the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is sufficient to save all people.\n \nVisiation hours will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 20, 2010, and again from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Services celebrating Les’ new life in Heaven will be at Fellowship Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, and at First Baptist Church of West Seneca in West Seneca, New York, on Saturday, October 2, 2010.\n \n“Behold, God is my Salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also is become my Salvation.” ~Isaiah 12:2\n \n \n To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Leslie Howard Kemmerer please visit our Sympathy Store.
