"The Lord said you've done enough. " Linda Silver Wright's life journey as an inspirational leader, mentor and youth educator ended on October 27, 2016. She started her journey on December 2, 1949 in Washington, DC, the daughter of Bruce and Annie Silver. After graduating from DC Public Schools, Linda received her bachelor's degree from DC Teachers College and her masters from Trinity University. Linda taught Physical Education in DC Schools. Later, Mayor Marion Barry hired her as assistant director of the Teenage Pregnancy & Infant Mortality program. Finally, she went back to DC Schools as the Director of HIV/AIDS Education. Ever courageous, she waged a lifelong battle with sickle cell disease while simultaneously dealing with the results of a bad auto accident for the last 15 years. Linda married her high school sweetheart William J. Wright, Jr. Their 45-year marriage produced 2 children, son Deamond and daughter Tyese; 3 grandsons, William, Jayden and Michael. She also leaves to cherish her memories an aunt, Rena Mae Gaston; 2 sisters-in-law Francine Wright Bellson and Barbara Wright; a daughter-in-law Yadira Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Bruce and Annie Silver, brother Charles Johnson and various other relatives. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. I Peter 5:10
