Lisa Stotz, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at Calvert Health Medical Center in Prince Frederick, MD. Her life was a testament to faith, love, and service, and her courage in the face of Myotonic Dystrophy was an enduring source of inspiration to all who knew her.
Lisa was born on November 30, 1971, in Casper, Wyoming, to Max and Miriam (Rieken) Whempner. She dedicated her life to supporting others and was most honored to serve young women at the Aloha Pregnancy Care and Counseling Center during her family's time stationed in Oahu, Hawaii, in the 2000s. Her compassion helped countless women make the courageous decision to choose life-a legacy she held dear.
Lisa was a devoted military spouse and an active member of her church community, where she found joy in serving in the nursery and participating in the Women's Ministry. Her sweet, kind, and caring nature made her an irreplaceable presence in every life she touched.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 35 years, Chuck Stotz; her children, Timothy and Allison; her mother, Miriam; her brothers, Tony, Steve, and Jeff; and her many cherished nieces and nephews.
Though Lisa faced immense challenges throughout her life, she persevered with unwavering faith and strength. Her grace and courage were a testament to her character, and she will be remembered as a beacon of hope and love to all who knew her.
The family will receive friends on April 16, 2025, at Dunkirk Baptist Church, 11275 Southern Maryland Blvd., Dunkirk, MD 20754 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am where a Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am.
