Lloyd S. Butler, of White Plains, MD passed on July 6, 2018 at the age of 87. Born in Washington, DC the son of Ella (Thomas) Butler and Thomas Butler. Lloyd moved to the Forestville, MD area as a child. After high school, Lloyd enlisted in the US Army. It became his first career and he retired after 20 years of service in 1969, Honorably. In 1960 Lloyd met and married the love of his life, Annick Renault in France. Their first child, a daughter, Ella was born while in Paris, France. Their second child, a son, Michel was born in Washington, DC. After the military, Lloyd worked for the Washington Post as a Transportation Coordinator. He retired after 40 years of service. Lloyd loved his family, especially his grandsons and great grand-daughter. When grandson Kasey enlisted in the US Army, he became the third generation in our family to serve our country in the US military. Some of the hobbies he enjoyed were fishing, football, and gardening. During his later years his #1 passion was cooking. Every day, Lloyd would read the Washington Post, from cover to cover. He will be missed. Beloved Husband of Annick M. Butler; Devoted Father of Ella Butler, Michel “ Mike” Butler and his wife Janet; Dear Brother of Phyllis, Jacqulin “Jackie” and Evelyn “Lucy”; Loving Grandfather of Dylan and his wife Misty and Kasey and Great-grandfather of Addison. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his sisters, Dorothy and Beverly and his brother, Donald.
