Loretta A. Lunceford Delano, mother, sister, aunt, loyal neighbor and friend passed away on Friday, April 24th, 2020 at the age of 73. She was born on January 18, 1947 and resided in Marshall, Virginia until her graduation from Fauquier High School in 1965 where she relocated to Maryland. In October of 1965 she started work in the technical section of the FBI and retired in March 2003. She has been a Prince George’s County resident for at least 40 years. Loretta didn’t like being embarrassed with singsong on her birthday but she always kept an eye out for her neighbors and loved ones. She was outgoing, social, enjoyed her Tuesday night Bingo, loved her shrimp feasts at Red Lobster, always accompanied her daughter on school field trips, spoiled her grandson rotten, called her family every Sunday, had an immeasurable love for cats, and was a devout Christian. She is survived by her daughter Noel Delano, grandson Jerry, her sisters Jean O’Meara and Gail Grimsley, and her brother David Lunceford, as well as several nieces and nephews. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Charles F. and Lillie A. Lunceford, four brothers Arthur, Luther, Pat, and Roy, and one sister Margaret. She will be laid to rest in Marshall, Virginia. A memorial service will be determined at a later time when large gathering restrictions have been lifted. To ensure the funeral pays tribute to Loretta A.
