Lorraine Frances Smutniak

Beloved wife Lorraine Frances Smutniak, age 82, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C.Lorraine was born on December 23, 1931 in Whiting, Indiana to the late Francis and Agnes (Moll) Rydziewski. She moved to the Washington, DC area in 1964 with her husband and young daughter, where they continued to complete their family with two sons in District Heights, Maryland. In 1975 the family moved to Calvert County (Dunkirk) where she resided until her death. Lorraine was very passionate about her Roman Catholic faith and a strong advocate for the education of her children. Lorraine is survived by her husband of 56 years, Frank E. Smutniak; daughter Diane M. Kedge (Greg) of Centreville, Virginia; son Frank S. Smutniak (Susan Cross) of Lawrence, Kansas; son John J. Smutniak of New York, NY and London, England; brother Frank Regeski (Ann) of Blue Ridge, Georgia; brother Thomas Regeski (Yvonne) of Las Vegas, Nevada; and four grandchildren, Olivia and Cecilia Smutniak and Nicholas and Corinne Kedge.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Lorraine’s name to the Ladies of Charity of St. Anthony’s Church, North Beach, MD.
