Lucy Marilyn George, (known too many as Marilyn) age 58, of Upper Marlboro, MD, entered into rest on October 30, 2014 at home, surrounded by her family.Born on September 17, 1956 to the late Lucy (Jackson) and Zerah Lewis in King William County, VA. Lucy was loved by all who knew her. She was full of life and always the life of the party. When she wasn't with her children and grandchildren, you could be sure to find her at karaoke. She absolutely loved to sing and had one of the most angelic voices ever heard. Lucy grew up in Baltimore Md. She received her education in the Baltimore City Public School system. Lucy graduated from Patterson High School then attend College for 2 years. Always a hard worker, Lucy gained employment at the Social Security Administration at the age of 18. She later became employed at VerizonWhere she worked for the next 27 years, earning many awards and recognition for being one of the company's top sales representatives. Lucy was deeply loved, respected, and cherished by many. Left to cherish her memory are, her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, one aunt in Rutherglen, VA. Margaret Lewis, cousins, and many, many friends. Lucy met Mary Carter as a teenager, and the two remained as close as sisters until Lucy's death. The two, known as M&M had a bond like no other. Mary has remained a true, loyal, and devoted friend and sister for many years. Lucy was a Loving mother to Marilyn McClain (Elijah) Upper Marlboro, MD, Jeffrey Garner (Danielle) of Gainsville, GA, Dimitria Smith of Baltimore, MD, and Kwesi Hackette (Esther); beloved sister of Thomas Lewis, Dollie Plowman, Yvette Bagley (Nigel), Alphonso Lewis (Carolyn), Ellwood Lewis (Sandra) and Zerah Lewis all of Baltimore, MD; dearest grandmother of Jaheim Garner, Isa’Kyin George, Iya’Kyne’ George, Isa George, Isaia George, Eliah McClain, Elisha McClain, Elie McClain, Englin McClain, Olivia Lacy, Antoine Garner, Jordon Garner, and Torri Stokes; great grandmother of Elijah McClain IV.In addition to her parents, Lucy was predeceased by her siblings, the late Harold Lewis Sr., Pamela Lewis and her great grandchild, Braylon McClain.
