"Lucy" Lema Lucille Bruzzese

Lema Lucille Bruzzese “Lucy” , 88 of Brookeville, MD passed on February 1, 2016 at her residence. Born in Lafollette, TN, Lucy is the daughter of the late Carrie Mae Rains Caruthers Fee and the late James Brown Caruthers. Lucy was raised in Tennessee, Ohio and Kentucky and graduated from Hall High School in Grays Knob, Kentucky in 1946. She moved to Washington, D.C. in 1950 and attended the Strayer Business College. She worked as a secretary at Stewart Motor Company where she met her husband Louis. They married on September 15, 1957 and moved to Capital Heights, Maryland where their 4 children were raised surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lucy and her husband were married for 56 years until his passing in 2014. She loved to bowl on the all female duckpin bowling league on Thursday mornings. Lucy also loved to garden, to play slots, to watch the Orioles and Redskins, and be with her family. Beloved wife of the late Louis Dominic Bruzzese; devoted mother of Joseph Bruzzese (Vivian) of Richmond, VA, Lucinda McGowan of Hanover, MD, Elizabeth Bokman (Carl) of Woodbine, MD and John Bruzzese (Cynthia) of Herndon, VA; loving grandma of Stephanie McGowan, Rachel McGowan, Jamie Bokman, John “Jack” Bruzzese, Nicholas Bruzzese and the late Meagan McGowan; dear sister of Henrietta McLemore of NC and the late Juanita Cogdill. Also survived by in-laws Vincent Bruzzese and Theresa Alvarez and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
