Lucy E.(Lutz)ShanamanLucy E. (Lutz) Shanaman, 55, Camp Spring, MD. Formerly of Reading, PA. Passed away due to natural causes at Walter Reed Army Medical Center July 18th, 2009. She is survived by her husband Barry L Shanaman Sr. formerly of Reading,Pa. They recently celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary. She was the daughter of Virginia M. Lutz and the late Raymond H. Lutz II. She was born in Reading, Pa at St Joseph’s Hospital on April 18th, 1954. She attended Holy Name High School and graduated from Reading High School in 1972. She graduated George Washington University in 1996 with a Masters Degree in Chemistry.She relocated to the greater Washington D.C. area after her husband joined the Air Force. She worked for several years as a chemist for The Environmental Protection Agency main office in Washington D.C. She was a member of several professional organizations including American Chemical Society. She is also survived by her son Barry L. Shanaman Jr. and his wife Karen of Mechanicsville, MD. and daughter Christina (Shanaman) Singer of Shoemakersville, PA. Also by her brother Raymond H. Lutz III of Shillington PA. and Sister Frances B. (Lutz) John of Shillington PA. She had 3 grandchildren Liam Shanaman of Mechanicsville, MD. , Angel Healey and Naomi Singer both of Shoemakersville PA. She had several nieces and nephews Stacy Asbell, James John, Patrick Bouer, Timothy Bouer, Beth Cassler, Raymond Lutz IV, Hannah Cassler all from Berks County. She also had many aunts, uncles and cousins in the Berks County area. She was very fond of her pet parrots Gabriel and Casper. The family request in lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Garuda Aviary 18400 River Road Poolesville, MD 20837.
