Margaret June Farley passed away on February 17, 2020 at the age of 91 in Canton, GA. She was born Margaret June Moore on July 5, 1928 to the late James and Anna Mae Moore in Cumberland, MD. She was the youngest of four sisters. Margaret graduated from Allegany High School, worked for the B&O Railroad and was a secretary for the Head Start Program Maryland Board of Education. In 1951, she married Frank Senter Farley, Jr. They lived several years in District Heights, MD and eventually settled in Huntingtown, MD. She was active in the church over the years serving as secretary, Sunday School teacher, and choir director. She also served as a deaconess. Margaret enjoyed writing poetry and was the author of two children’s books. She and her husband traveled abroad to Israel, Africa, Russia, Scandanavian countries and the Arctic Circle. She is survived by their son, Frank Senter Farley III, his wife, Mary Ann (Micki) Farley of Canton, GA, and ten nieces and nephews. Margaret is preceded in death by her three sisters, Mary Hosken, Anna Williams and Clara Lee Day. The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Monday, February 24, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Gardens Cemetery 10155 Ward Road, Dunkirk, MD 20754.
