Margaret Elaine Hamel Obituary
Margaret Elaine Brown Hamel, 83, passed away on October 14, 2023, in Mid-Pinellas, FL. She was born on May 6, 1940, in Washington, D.C., to George Oille Brown and Elsie Elaine Linton Brown.
During her youth, Margaret resided in District Heights. She attended and graduated from Suitland High School, Class of '58.
Margaret experienced the loss of several loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie and George Brown, her first husband Elwood Beane, son Ethan Clifford Beane, second husband Jerry Hamel, sister Louise, brothers George and Donald.
Left to cherish her memory are her son E. Christopher Beane. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tina Beane, C. Nicholas Beane, and Joshua Beane; great-grandchildren: Jordan, Levi, Clayton, Parker, Joseph, Addison, and Jamison; and her brother Sam Brown. Margaret also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Margaret spent over 20 years residing in Capitol Heights with her first husband and two children. She dedicated her professional career to the Federal Government, working in Washington D.C. and Philadelphia for many years. Margaret retired as a Federal Employee.
In her later years, Margaret retired to the peaceful town of Morrisburg, TN. She actively participated in Central Methodist Church, engaging in numerous charity organizations and volunteering at the local senior center.
The family would like to extend special gratitude to her lifelong friends Kenneth and Shelby Beckett, as well as St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL, and Suncoast Hospice in Mid-Pinellas, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Central Methodist Church or Suncoast Hospice in Margaret's honor.
Margaret Elaine Hamel will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched throughout the years. May she rest in eternal peace.
