Margaret Ann Major was born on October 15, 1937 in Rock Hill, South Carolina to the late Reverend Roscoe C. Wilson, Sr. and Ethel C. Wilson and attended schools in South Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education from Benedict College in 1962. After college she held several positions to include Psychiatric Technician, Nursing Assistant and Correctional Officer with the Department of Corrections, the position from which she retired. While working as a Correctional Officer, she met Donald Major and they were joined in matrimony on April 4, 1987. From the onset, Margaret formed a special relationship with her granddaughter, Renita. Early in her life she gave her life to Christ and was a dedicated member of St. Matthews Baptist Church. She liked to travel with her husband, wear fancy hats, had a passion for shopping, eating out and made the best seafood salad! On Wednesday, August 16, 2017, Margaret transitioned peacefully after a brief illness. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Donald Major; stepdaughter, Brenda Lawson (David); grandchildren, Renita Payne (Kevin) and Lamar McCutchen (Nicole); great-grandchildren, Brianna Milline, Jameir McCutchen, Trinity Payne, Kevin Payne Jr, Khai Payne, Kennedy Payne and Ava McCutchen; brothers Roscoe Wilson,Jr. (Eva) and Preston Wilson, sister-in-law, Jessica King; nieces and nephews Stephanie Watson (Eric), Daryl King, Renaldo Wilson, A’ja Wilson, and a host of other family and friends.
