Blandford\n \nMargaret Bean Blandford\n \n“Nanny”\n \n\n\nMargaret B. Blandford, beloved wife of the late Roland B. Blandford, died December 23, 2011 at her home in Brandywine, Maryland. She is survived by her children Margaret (Larry) Stinchcomb, Barbara (Robert) Carroll, the late Marian (Dennis) Seabourn, Florence Kelsey and Roland "Bub" (Karen) Blandford. There are 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Margaret enjoyed a long, eventful life. She graduated from Lynchburg College in 1932, married in 1934 and happily became a mother and homemaker, devoting her life to her family. She was active early on in her church and community. She founded the Hi-Hat Club during World War II which supported community action and provided social activities to women during war time and thereafter. The Club continued into the 90's. Margaret was an accomplished seamstress and pianist. She loved cooking, baking, crafting, reading and her large family. She was a month shy of her 100th birthday. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Piscataway, Maryland.
