Margaret Sylver was born Tuey-Kew Woo on December 29th, 1950 in Kowloon, Hong Kong. She was one of nine children, born to the late Chi Sum and Chan King Chee Woo and was the Beloved Wife of the late Marvin Sylver for 38 years.She departed Hong Kong on April 14, 1964 and arrived in the United States on April 26th. Her first place of employment was at Gino’s in Suitland, MD. She was later employed at the U.S. Census Bureau, and then attended Prince George’s Community College to obtain an Associate’s of Arts Degree in Accounting. Also during this time, she met and married her Husband Marvin. Margaret was a dedicated Mother who was reserved in her demeanor. Her main focus was to ensure that her children received an education. She was hard working, compassionate, willing to go above and beyond, generous, resilient and humble. Her faith in God was unparalleled, teaching these same values to her children.Marvin preceded Margaret in death on October 29,2010. She is survived by her beloved children: Marvin, Michael, Michelle, Mark, Marilyn, Marie, India and Olivia; grandchildren Kimberly, James, Jesse, Justin, Bryanna, Jasmine, Jovon and Asia; and great grandchildren Xavier, Destiny, Brandon, Leighton and Adalynn; her siblings Susan, Virginia, Eddak, Josephine and Anna. Along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her.After a courageous battle with breast cancer, the Lord called her back home on December 29th, 2012. Margaret touched the lives of many with her strength and willingness to go above and beyond, always considering others before herself.
