Marilynn Hancock McNulty, beloved wife, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of Friday, February 28, 2020 at the age of 62 after a long battle with breast cancer. Marilynn was born on November 23, 1957 in Washington, DC to Herman Elmer and Eileen Anne (Casey) Hancock. She was a proud graduate of La Reine High School, class of 1975. After graduation, she worked for a short time at the Census Bureau. She then spent many years working from home as a court reporter and transcriber while simultaneously raising six children. In 2001, she embarked on a career with SMECO, where she spent 19 years working as an administrative assistant. During her tenure there, she spent time in many departments throughout the company and made countless friends. In the spring of 2014, Marilynn graduated from the College of Southern Maryland with her Associates degree in Business. She loved learning and continued to take classes even after receiving her degree. Marilynn and Frank joined St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Prince Frederick when they moved to Calvert County in 1994, and Marilynn has volunteered in various capacities over the last 25 years. Marilynn enjoyed spending time with family, game shows, cross-stitch, and her trips to Ireland in 2015 and 2017. Marilynn is survived by her husband of 35 years, Frank; six children: Casey (Justin), Irene, Karen (Ryan), Michael (Taylor), Kathleen, and Colleen (David); a sister, Eileen, and half- brother, Frank; three grandchildren: Aidan, Riley, and Colton; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, as well as her in-laws, Richard B. and Anne E. McNulty. The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Wednesday, March 4, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm. An additional visitation will be held at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, 105 Vianney Lane, Prince Frederick, MD 20678 on Thursday, March 5 from 10:00-11:00 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Interment will be private. A repass will follow immediately in the church fellowship hall. Memorial contributions can be made in Marilynn’s memory to Calvert Hospice, P.O.
