Mark W. Taylor, 58, of Lothian, MD, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 19, 2018. Mark was born July 4, 1960 as the youngest of 8 children to Mable "Evelyn" (Gearhart) and Robert Daniel Taylor on Andrews Air Force Base. A graduate of Suitland High school, Mark worked as a Stationary Engineer in Washington, D.C. and Virginia, and was a member of Local 99 International Union of Operating Engineers. Known for his humor, Mark always had the ability to make his family and friends laugh. Mark enjoyed building and collecting clocks, attending University of Maryland sporting events, trying new restaurants, sci-fi movies, and attending family get togethers. Mark is survived by his wife, Sonja, and their son Wayne of Lothian, Maryland, as well as his siblings Barbara Chambers of Port Republic, Maryland, Danny Taylor of Annapolis, Maryland, David Taylor of Stafford, Virginia, Betty Lynn Newkirk of Palm City, Florida, Mary Coulson of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Ruth Cornwell of Manassas, Virginia, and a loving extended family of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jo Ann. Family will receive friends on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 12 pm-2 pm with service to follow immediately at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736.
