Mary Elizabeth Burroughs Hoff

Saturday, February 18, 2017, Mary E. Burroughs Hoff died. The daughter of the late Charles J. and Margarette Hess Burroughs, Mary was born on March 26, 1932. Raised in Hillside, MD, she lived in Capital Heights when she died. Mary retired from the P.G. County Schools where she had been a Baker then a Bus Aide. Her parents, husband, 2 brothers (Charles & James), 2 sisters (Juanita McDaniel and Charlotte Riley), her Son, Steven Michael, her daughter Alyce McVearry, and 2 Brothers-In-Law, Charles McDaniel and Richard Erskine, predecease her. Survivors include, William Hoff, Jr, Robin, and Margaret Hoff at home, one son-in-law James McVearry, Grandchildren, Dawn Henderson, Kenneth Hoff, and “second grandson”, Jason Lavender, Matthew & Paula White, Michele Broyles, also surviving are great-grandchildren, Tatiana, Eric and Desmond Henderson, and three others. Mary is survived by her very special “big” brother, George Burroughs, 3 sisters, Evelyn Erskine, Carlene Heath (Tommy), Margaret Riley (Billy), brother-in-law Frank (Laney) Riley, and a very special friend of 78 ½ years, Edith Chialstri. A large number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and great-great nieces & nephews survive. All arrangements were private.
