Mary “Nana” Louise Dean, 89, of Morningside, MD passed away peacefully at home July 16, 2023. 

Mary was born August 7, 1933 in McComb, IL to the late Harold H. and Nancy Louise Peters. She enjoyed caring for her family, working as a homemaker, Food Counter Attendant at Woolworths and catering events at the Elks Lounge. She loved to play Bingo, cards, slot machines, bowl, Chicago Cubs and Washington Capitals.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Irvin Dean, daughter, Angela Snowden, sisters, Alma Richardson, and Charlotte Ford, and brothers, Albert Peters, Keith Peters, Harold Peters, and Lloyd Peters.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Albertina "Tina" Hodge, and Crystal Coffren (Craig), grandchildren, Steven West (Michelle), Michelle Crooks (Rick), Carl Snowden (Amy), Jennifer Lewis (Grant), and Justin Coffren, great grandchildren, Savanna Crooks, Anthony Crooks, Isaac Lewis, Noah Lewis, Ryan Armstrong, Alexander Armstrong, Adrianna Armstrong, and Sierra Armour.

A graveside service will be held in honor and celebration of Mary's life August 10 th 11:15am at Cheltenham Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Hwy, Cheltenham, MD 20623.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary Dean can be sent to Morningside Volunteer Fire Department, 6200 Suitland Rd, Suitland, MD 20746.
