Mary Buckler Kauffman

Mary B. Kauffman, 85, of Huntingtown, Maryland, formerly of Arlington, Virginia, peacefully passed away October 11, 2013. Mary is predeceased by her loving husband, John F. Kauffman, her parents and her eight siblings. Mary was born on July 24, 1928 in Charles County, Maryland. She grew up in a Catholic family near the Aquasco, Maryland area. After graduating high school, Mary moved to Washington, D.C. and worked for the Federal Government. Mary married the love of her life John F. Kauffman in 1968. She lived in Arlington, Virginia for nearly 40 years. She enjoyed playing cards, planting flowers, visiting friends and family. Most of all she will be remembered for all the long talks and unforgettable stories, and especially tailgating in her Lazyboy in front of the T.V. never missing a Redskin game and as always keeping her faith, never absent from Sunday mass.Mary is survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews, especially Virginia Cameron of Huntingtown, MD, whom she lived with and was cared for by the last four years of her life. She is also survived by many great and (great-great) nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the Lee Funeral Home Calvert, P.A., 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Sunday, October, 20, 2013 from 5 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 21, 10 AM at Jesus the Divine Word Catholic Church, 885 Cox Road, Huntingtown, MD. Graveside service will take place at Beahm Chapel Cemetery in Luray, Virginia on Monday October 21, at 3 PM.
