Mary "Mardee" Deas Rochelle

Mary Deas “Mardee” Rochelle, 68, of Upper Marlboro, MD passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018. Born in Washington, DC to Margaret (Nee Briscoe) and Robert Rochelle. She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Tom Cavanaugh; two beloved sons, Nicholas Simmerer (Amber) of Upper Marlboro, MD and Philip Simmerer (Kimberly) of Sykesville, MD; four adoring grandkids, Cameron, Emmalyn, Blake, and Henry; two caring siblings, Ellen Rochelle of Knoxville, TN and Russell Rochelle of Littleton, CO; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Ann Darby. Mardee loved anything and everything to do with horses. She was an equestrian for most of her life. Mardee was an early member of the Potomac Valley Dressage Association where she acted as President for three years. Also, she was very family oriented. Her family was close-knit. Tom and Mardee met at a meeting of the Excel Special Interest Group of the Washington Apple Pi Apple computer users group.
