At 4:30 AM, on Tuesday the 28th of September, our mother Mary Lou McCormick passed away to be with our Lord Jesus Christ and our father Harry Warren McCormick, Sr. At the young age of 93, she is survived by her daughters Mary Anne McCormick and Beverly Gale Pish, Sons Collin Shane McCormick and Harry Warren McCormick, Jr. and Grand Daughter April Anne Pish. Mary Lou enjoyed being with our father on long motorcycle rides on their “Black Beauty” Harley Davidson and even rode in the Rolling Thunder events several times. She loved entertaining family and friends and always made sure that there was enough variety so everyone could have something they liked. She loved reading Tom Clancy and mystery novels, doing crossword puzzles, watching her wild animal friends out of the kitchen window and being the avid collector of Teddy Bears, she amassed a truly epic collection which occupies an entire bedroom. Mary Lou was a vibrant public servant working for the Naval Intelligence Support Center/Office of Naval Intelligence managing the daily operations of the document production department before her retirement. Many times she expressed how much she missed her work, the people she worked with and wished that she had stayed a little longer. Early in her career, Mary Lou would do freelance typing and while being praised her for her speed and accuracy, friends commented the she typed so fast that she should keep a fire extinguisher next to her just in case. All of us, friends and family will miss Mary Lou terribly. Her smile and laughter, her sharp wit and crazy sayings that only a mother could say and only those that knew her could possibly understand.
