Mary Norcia\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n1921-2011\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nMrs. Norcia lived in Clinton for 49 years. She moved to Ginger Cove Retirement Community in Annapolis, Md in November of 2010. She worked as an oil painter and fiber artist for 70 years, exhibiting her work in Germany, Japan and Honolulu, Hawaii. \n \n As an Airforce wife, her career was as Key support to her husband, Lt. Col. Benjamin Norcia,USAF, Ret'd, handling the logistics for 13 moves throughout the US, Germany and Japan in 28 years. (She had been a seamstress at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in 1941 when they met.)\n \n She logged in over 40 years as an active Volunteer for multiple groups such as The Red Cross at Malcolm Grow Hospital, Andrews Airforce Baseas a nurse's aide in the OB/GYN clinic for 15 years. Mrs. Norcia was a board member of the Andrews AFB Officers’ Wives' Club for ten years. Another aspect of her volunteering was to knit baby caps and blankets to donate to local hospitals. She was active in the PTA at Surrattsville Elementary, Jr. High and Sr. High schools. \n \nMary was married to her husband for 68 years He passed away in October 2010. She leaves her daughter Marcia Norcia Phillips, and one grandson, Jesse Norcia Phillips, both of Bowie, Md.\n \n \n \nMary was in born Old Forge, Pa and graduated from Old Forge High School in 1939.\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n
