Mary Lloyd Willoughby, 93, of Clinton, Maryland passed away November 28, 2022. Mary was loved by all who knew her. She was born June 4, 1929, in Washington, D.C., to the late Jesse and Edna (O'Dea) Lloyd. She graduated from McKinley High in Washington, D.C., as a member of the National Honor Society. Among her academic achievements, she skipped a grade of school having advanced beyond her peers. She worked for the Naval Gun Factory, Washington, D.C., as secretary to the chief engineer and after marriage, cared for her family and home. Throughout her life, Mary enjoyed spending time at her family's summer home on the Potomac River in St. Mary's County, Maryland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the late Willis Jackson Willoughby, Jr., who died of complications relating to Lymphoma on November 18, 1998. She is survived by her children, Brian Willoughby, Betsy Willoughby Horvat and Bruce Willoughby, and grandchildren, Abigail (Horvat) Glick, Willis Willoughby and Sarah Horvat. A visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 8011 Rosaryville Road, Upper Marlboro, Maryland 20772, where a funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Pastors Bill Schneider and Chuck Conrad. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suitland, Maryland 20746, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse charity.
