Mary Ann Harlan, 97, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years David E. Harlan, brothers Robert and Sylvester, sister Florence, and son-in-law David W. VanDyke. Mary Ann was born in St. Mary’s, PA on July 25, 1924 to Sylvester and Rose Kronenwetter. She graduated from Central High School and was employed at GTE Sylvania for over 35 years. Upon retirement, she and her husband moved to Scottsdale, AZ. After his passing, she relocated to Prince Frederick, MD to be closer to family. A woman of deep and abiding faith, Mary Ann contributed her talents to several ministries at her church. One of her passions was knitting. She shared her creativity with others through various knitting groups in AZ and MD. Mary Ann always enjoyed being surrounded by family. She is survived by her daughter Rose VanDyke, son Larry (Shannon), daughter Margaret Binder (Steve), and daughter Faith Montieth (Mark); six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Covenant Community of Jesus the Good Shepherd 1601 West Mount Harmony Road, Owings, MD 20736 on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s, PA at a later date.
