Maude Sylvene LaPrade peacefully was called home on Friday, May 15, 2020 surrounded by loving family. She was born on July 16, 1930 to the late Sydney Elmer Docket and the late Sarah Henrietta Docket in Croom MD. She married the love of her life, the late Benjamin Franklin LaPrade on April 3, 1960 and remained married until his death December 28, 2007. Sylvene was educated in the Prince Georges County school system. Passions in her life were baking, caring for her many beautiful house plants, traveling far and wide with her family, and she enjoyed her time fellowshipping with her Sisters and Brothers at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness. Her greatest passion was her love of family and true friends. Sylvene had a heart so big for everyone and everything. Her house was always filled with kids she would do daycare for including her own grandkids and great nieces and nephews. She was always thinking of others and would readily grab a grocery bag and head to her “pantry” of food to fill the bag and give away. She enjoyed caring for her own children thru the years and then fell in love again when her Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren were born. Sylvene is proceeded in death by her parents, Sydney and Sarah Dockett. Her husband, Ben LaPrade. Her sisters Joanna Dockett, Joyce Hickman, Claudette Poge and Rachel Hickman. Three nephews Richard Wright and Dwayne and Charles Dockett. She leaves to morn 2 daughters, Sylvia Ann LaPrade (John Richardson) and Monica LaPrade (Gene Dent). 4 brothers, Elmer, Freeman (Joyce), John (Gloria)and Charles (Margaret) Docket, 2 brothers in law Anthony Hickman and Floyd Poge Sr. 3 Grandchildren, India, Eric and Jody LaPrade. 4 Great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Kenneth, Auriya, and Jade. 10 nieces and 9 nephews and a host of other relatives and special friends.
