Micaila G Worrell

Micaila Gribok Worrell, known as “Mickey” to her family and friends, passed away at age 76 on Sunday, December 18, 2022, following a long illness. 

Micaila was born on January 30, 1946, in Washington, D.C. to Peter and Catherine Gribok, and grew up in Fairfax, Virginia. She graduated from Bishop O’Connell High School in 1964. For many years, Micaila co-managed Ferry Landing Farm and Apiary with her former husband, Gerard Worrell, raising livestock and operating the dairy. Micaila and Gerard raised two children, Rachel and Brett.

Micaila was a devout Christian, and prior to her illness was very active in her church community. She was a skilled spinner of wool, a crocheter, and a sewist. She loved to sing.

Micaila was preceded in death by her father, Peter, her mother, Catherine, and her former husband, Gerard. She is survived by her children, Rachel Johnson (Louis) and Brett Worrell (Jill), her brothers Peter Denis Gribok (Jeannie) and Stephan Gribok (Eleanor), her grandsons Vincent, Philip, and Nicholas Johnson, and several nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on January 4 from 10:30-11:30am, followed by a graveside service and interment in the parish cemetery at the Covenant Community of Jesus the Good Shepherd, 1601 West Mount Harmony Road, Owings, MD 20736 at 12pm.
