Michael Alford

Michael A. Alford was born to the late William Alford and Thelma Strong on September 23rd, 1960. He departed his earthly life on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025. Michael began his early childhood in Brooklyn, New York, later relocating to Mt. Vernon, then to Conway, South Carolina, where he graduated from Conway High School in 1978. In 1980 he followed in his brother and father’s footsteps joining the armed forces. Michael was a soldier in the United States Army until the year of 1986, whilst doing so becoming a member of the Masons Germany Chapter, becoming a husband, and the father of two sons. In 1987 Michael chose to follow his mother’s footsteps in becoming a teacher which led him to attend South Carolina State University and graduating in 1992. While at South Carolina State he joined, became, and remained an active member of the Wine Psi Phi Fraternity. Once graduated he was afforded the opportunity to work for Prince Georges County Public School thus relocating to Suitland Maryland. Michael went on to gain his Masters Degree and became the father to now three sons. Michael retired from teaching after 26 years, then went back to be a substitute teacher as he continued his passion in teaching and leading. Throughout Michaels life he was an avid reader to include studying the Holy Bible and the Quran. Strong sharp mind, enthusiastic, bringing life to the party, protector, rapper, humorous, modest, charismatic, family man.
