On December 16, 2016, surrounded by his loving family, Mike Belt, of Huntingtown, Maryland, walked with the Lord to his final resting place. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-three years, Michelle Belt and sons, Lucas, Hayden, and Michael Belt and daughter Stephanie(Mike) Lewis, and new grandson, Connor Lewis, his mother Ruth Belt, sister Michelle (Bill) Woods, and brother Mark Belt; nieces and nephews Sydney, James, and Jack Belt, Grace, Tess, and Jack Casper, Jameson Falknor, Jessica and Travis Woods. He was preceded in death by his sister Melissa E. Belt(July 2009). Mike was born on January 5, 1965 in Westminister, Maryland. He lived in Germany and Maryland growing up until he proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He has lived in Huntingtown for eighteen years. He worked for the past eighteen years at Arinc/Rockwell Collins as an electrical engineer. During his time at Rockwell Collins, he traveled all around the world to amazing places from Annapolis, Maryland to Guam, Alaska, Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand, Hawaii,California, and his second home in Long Island, New York. He worked with amazing people, climbed and built some of the highest radio towers and left his smile wherever he went. Mike loved his job and enjoyed the challenges it provided. He most enjoyed spending time with his family. Meeting his first grandson brought a new joy to his life. Every family trip was an adventure and created lasting memories with his family. Mike loved working with his hands either on his house or cars. He shared this love with his children. His free time was filled with many hours of fishing, always missing the one that got away. His passion for golf was highlighted by watching his boys play their first round of golf. And no Sunday would be complete without watching his beloved Washington Redskins. He was a man who could not say no to someone in need. He welcomed rescue dogs into his home with open arms and a space on the couch. Mike Belt was an intelligent, dedicated, loving husband and most of all the "Best Dad in the World." In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Puppy Paws Rescue, P.O. Box 45, Huntingtown, MD 20639
