Michael Thomas Cullen

Michael T. Cullen, 71 of Sunderland, Maryland and previously of Cheverly, Maryland died November 8, 2021 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. He was born August 10, 1950 to the late Thomas R. Cullen, and Joanne M. Moran. He was a printer by trade as was his Father and Grandfather before him. He was involved in the Columbia Typographical Union 101-12, holding more than one leadership position, including Vice President, throughout his adult life. As his Father, and Grandfather before him Michael eventually retired from the US Government Printing (Publishing) Office. Michael was a lifelong Maryland resident and graduate of DeMatha Catholic High School. Michael had a passion for his work in the Union, but also for fishing, often spending his free time on the Chesapeake Bay where he was known to catch, Spanish Maceral, Blue, and Rock Fish with his family, and friends. Michael or ‘Mike’ to all that knew him, was a stern yet caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew him. On November 6, 1981 he married Faye E. (Humphries) Cullen eventually helping to raise five loving children. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ronnie Cullen. He is survived by his wife of forty years Faye Cullen, Brother Gary Cullen, Sister Sandy Auerbach (Cullen), Sons, Joseph, John, Kenneth, and Michael, Jr. Daughters; Victoria, and Tammy; and numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert 8200 Jennifer Lane Owings, MD 20736 on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM where a Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel.
