Michael Andre Francis

Michael Andre Francis, was born on March 25, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri and departed this life on December 7, 2020. He was the oldest of three sons born to Roy Clay Francis and Mary Eliza Jacobs Francis. Michael was a graduate of the Prince George’s County Public School System. After High School, he began his career with the Federal Government at the U.S. Census Bureau. He joined the United States Army in 1987 where he served 14 years. For the past 18 years, he worked for the Transportation Security Administration. Michael met Carolyn Fitzgerald in 1981 through her cousin Gloria Cain. They married in 1988. From this union three children were born: Chanel, Michael, and Monica. Michael first became a grandfather in 2012 when his son Michael Francis, II blessed him with a granddaughter named Kyaha Arianna Francis. A few years later in 2014, his daughter Chanel Davis blessed him with a grandson named Carter Maddox Davis. Michael’s parents Roy (1984) and Mary Francis (2001), one brother Steve Francis (1964), one son Michael Francis, II (2019), and a lifelong friend Robert ‘Skeet’ Horton (2019) preceded him in death. Michael is survived by two daughters, Chanel Davis (North Carolina) and Monica Francis (Maryland); one son, Preston Francis (North Carolina); two grandchildren, Kyaha Francis, (Maryland) and Carter Davis (North Carolina); one brother, Curtis Francis and his wife Monica (Maryland); one niece, Hailey Francis (Maryland); one nephew, Xavier Francis (Maryland) and a host of relatives and friends.
