Michael David Hoyt, Sr.

Michael David Hoyt, Sr. of Chesapeake Beach, MD passed away peacefully at home on February 27, 2023 at the age of 69. Michael was born on October 14, 1953 in New Haven, CT; son of Clarence and Beatrice Hoyt.

Michael was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 26, from which he retired after 44 years of committed service.

Michael was a faithful member of the Catholic Church, who instilled those values in his family. He was a member of St Anthony’s parish in North Beach, MD, and enjoyed recounting stories of his days of alter serving as a child in Key West, FL.

Michael was a dedicated family man who loved travelling with his wife, Katie, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Michael was preceded in death by his son, Michael Hoyt, Jr.

Michael is survived by his wife Katherine Hoyt, daughter Kimberly Hoyt, son Adam Hoyt, daughter-in-law Haley Hoyt, seven grandchildren: Blake, Haleigh, Samantha, Theresa, Cecilia, Heath, and Hugh; sister Deborah McMeans (Kevin), brother David Hoyt (Francine), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 8816 Chesapeake Ave, North Beach, MD 20714 on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery 1601 West Mount Harmony Road, Owings, MD 20736.
