Michael Scott Martin

Michael Scott Martin (Age 31)On Friday, December 13, 2002 at Johns Hopkins Hospital. After a valiant six month fight, Michael turned to his family and told them that if they wanted him to he would continue to fight. He told them he was tired and not to worry, that he was at a "Joyous Occasion". With broken hearts, his family told Michael to go be with God and leave the pain behind. At that moment he was wisped away and his Father carried him home on eagles wings. Michael was born on November 25, 1971 with an irreversible heart defect and his life was an experiment from the time he was 24 hours old. After numerous operations in his life and having the odds stacked up against him Michael persevered. He won the hearts of many and held friendship for eternity. But now God has called him back and has made him whole. He taught us how to live, how to love, and mostly that his purpose here was to help us find ourselves, each other and God. Michael grew up in Dunkirk, Maryland and received his B.S. degree from U.M.B.C. He worked at Pax River Naval Base as a web designer. He is the beloved son of Billy and Mary Jane Martin; loving brother of Danny (Carrie) Martin and Laurie Martin; uncle of Billy, Joshua and Baylee Martin. He is also survived by his life long brother Greg Nottingham.
