Mildred Hatton Darcey, 84, of Upper Marlboro, MD, previously of Camp Springs, MD, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, March 23, 2011. She was born August 31, 1926, to the late Robert and Mabel Hatton, the eldest of nine children.\n \nMildred was a member of Electra Chapter #2 Order of the Eastern Star, South Gate Ladies Lions, Prince George’s Farm Bureau and a life-long member of Bell’s United Methodist Church. She devoted her life to her children and worked endlessly with her late husband, Roland, on state-wide farming issues and legislation.\n \nHer favorite past-times were cooking, family gatherings, playing cards and welcoming everyone into her home.\n \nMildred is preceded in death by husband, Roland E. Darcey, parents Robert and Mabel Hatton, sister Jane Robertson, sister-in-law Julie Hatton and brothers-in-law Robert Hairfield and Robbie Roberson.\n \nMildred is survived by four children, Kenneth E. Darcey, wife Janet; Marsha D. Ward, husband George; Steven E. Darcey, wife Bonnie; and Kevin W. Darcey, wife Jane Vickers, one grandson, Erik Darcey, two step-grandchildren, Kenneth Forest, wife Kim; Dawn Sickles, husband James, two step great-grandchildren, Lillian and Tyler Sickles; seven siblings, Dorothy Hairfield; Barbara Hough, husband Herbert; Robert Hatton, Jr.; Carol Loveless; Bonnie Hardy, husband Gerald, Gail Gebo, husband Gary; John Hatton, wife Cherie; one sister-in-law, Marie Anonson, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.\n \nFriends will be received at LEE FUNERAL HOME, CALVERT, P.A., 8125 Southern Maryland Blvd., Owings, MD 20736 (Rt. 4 and Fowler Rd.) on Friday, March 25 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm.
