Mildred E. Hale\nDecember 30, 1920 – April 22, 2012\n \n \n \nMillie Hale was born in Washington, D.C. and attended elementary, junior and senior high school there. After marrying Thomas Hale in 1942 they lived in Cheverly, Maryland for 55 years and moved to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina in 2006. She retired from the U.S. Public Health Service after 24 years.\n \n \n \nShe was active in church work, particularly in leading the Youth Choir and singing in the Adult Choir. She especiallyenjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles,music, being with friends and her cat, Charlie. Beloved wife of Thomas “Tuck” Hale, they were married for sixty-nine and a half years. She is also survived by one sister, Alice McCall, wife of the late William McCall; her son, Ronald and wife Laura and daughter Kathy Hale-Getman, and husband Richard Getman, many wonderful nieces and nephews and a host of devoted friends.\n \n \n \nViewing will be held at Lee Funeral Home, Inc. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 27. Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Camp Springs at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 28. Burial to follow at Fort Lincoln Cemetery Brentwood, MD. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the First Baptist Church of Camp Springs, 6936 Allentown Road, Temple Hills, MD 20748.\n \n \n \n Millie was a kind, compassionate, loving person who made a friend with everyone she met.
