Milton Lee Sing, age 92, of Temple Hills, MD, passed away on May 19, 2015.Born December 24, 1922, in Baltimore, MD, to the late Wong Shee and Lee Sing, Milton graduated in 1942 from Eastern High School in Washington, DC, and then attended the Capitol Radio Engineering Institute (1942-1943). He was employed with the Civil Aeronautics Administration in Alaska as a radio transmitter and receiver technician (1943-1944). Milton was inducted into the U.S. Army Tank Corp., serving in the Philippines and Japan under General MacArthur’s command (1944-1946) and the U.S. Army Air Force Reserves (1946-1949). He was honorably discharged in November 1946 and September 1949, respectively. He was one of the few surviving WWII Veterans. Milton worked for the FAA at National Airport and received a degree in electronics from George Washington University (1947-1951). He operated his father's laundry business in southeast Washington, DC (1951-1971) while attending Howard University part-time (1961-1966), graduating with his MS degree in Physics. At NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (1967-1986), he was an engineer specializing in instrumentation used in space research, including work on the Hubble Space Telescope, before retiring in 1986. Employed by McDonnell Douglas Space Division in 1988, he provided engineering and management support to the NASA/GSFC Flight Projects Directorate until he retired in 1991. He married Helen on September 16, 1950 in Washington, DC, moving to Temple Hills, Maryland in 1965, where he lived until his passing. Milton was the beloved husband of the late Ruth Helen Sing; devoted father of Terri L. Burke (Greg) of Portland, OR, Carolyn C. Davis (late Ricky Davis) of Upper Marlboro, MD, and Reginald M. Lee (Jennifer) of Indian Wells, CA; dear brother of Rose Lem of Islip. NY, Betty Sung of NY, NY, Joseph Lee Sing of NY, and the late Homer Lee Sing; loving grandfather of Jessica B. Burke (Jonathan Cohen) of Portland, OR, Jeremiah N. Burke (Laura) of Fairfax, VA, Matthew L. Davis (Kristi) of Jupiter, FL, Jaclyn M. Armeni (Joe) of Morgantown, WV, James (“Jake”) M. Davis of Upper Marlboro, MD, Samuel C.
