Milton Tandy

Milton "Potsy" Tandy was born on August 9th 1946 to the late Gabria Ella Tandy. Milton was seven out of ten children, born and raised in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Milton acknowledged Jesus Christ as a young man and was a member of Lane Tabernacle C.M.E. Church. After graduating from Attucks High Milton enlisted into the military, where he served for a short time. Milton met Marilyn Codgell in 1968, they began dating and married in 1970. During their 48 years of marriage, they stayed together no matter the trials and tribulations and dedicated their lives to each other and their family. Over the years, Milton enjoyed working and interacting with the public. He worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital as a nursing assistant and retired as a residential counselor for Community Connections in Washington, D.C. Milton had a way with people. He loved to talk, laugh, crack jokes and always had something funny to say. He loved to get together, have some drinks, play cards and just have a good time. Milton was a professional when it came to the numbers or as he would say, "the figures" and loved pinochle, bid whiz and 5000. Milton was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, three brothers, Henry Finch, Eddie & George Tandy, four sisters, Annie Countiss, Ozetta Williams, Gabria Ella Brown and Margaret Tandy. Milton leaves behind three daughters, Cynthia Raye, Tamika Tawana Tandy and Marilyn Lynnett Tandy, a precious grannddaughter, Skylar Dana Raye Riley, one brother, John Anderson, one sister Jayne Tandy and a host of family and friends.
