Mintry Robert Muse ”Bob” of Temple Hills, MD passed peacefully on October 1st, 2016 at the age of 93. Born in Belvoir, VA, Bob was one of five children born to Marie and Mintry A. Muse. Bob graduated from Manassas Industrial High school. Soon after graduating he enlisted in the Navy, 7/29/1943. Bob served on multiple aircraft carriers, the USS Nassau, USS Eversole, USS Heermann, USS Hornet, USS Shangri-La, and the USS Independence. Bob served in WWII, the Korean War and Vietnam. In 1951 Bob was stationed at the US Naval Station in Newport, Rhode Island. This is where he met the beautiful Joan Wigginton. They were married April 12th 1954 and spent 62 years together. Bob truly enjoyed life. Bob loved music and loved to dance.” Everyone knew his moves”. Bob loved to host parties; he threw a birthday party for himself almost every year. Bob loved to garden, he was meticulous about his lawn and plants. During his military career he received multiple letters of commendation. Bob retired active duty after 26 years. Bob began the next chapter of his work career at the Washington Navy yard where he managed the Officers club for many years. After retiring from the Navy yard he worked for the Fleet reserve and the American legion (his hang out spots). His final retirement was about a year ago, he stopped working to spend more time with his wife Joan. Mintry Robert Muse was the beloved husband of Joan Wigginton Muse of Temple Hills, MD: devoted father of Claudia M. Wilson (Gary) of Bowie, MD, Diane A. Muse-Poindexter (William) of Brandywine, MD and the late Darryl L. Muse. Bob instilled by example a great sense of kindness, humility and perseverance to his children. Bob was a dear brother of Geneva Feemster (Everett) of Marshall, Va and the late Randolph Muse (Ruth) Monroe Muse (Dolly) and Ambrose Muse (Juanita); loving grandfather “buddy” of Aaron Wilson, Andrew Wilson, Alysha Theosmy and Marcus Muse and great-grandfather “buddy” of Lennox Wilson.
