Myrtle Virginia Sullivan Pessagno, daughter of Chancellor “Shake” and Evelyn “Mimmy” Sullivan, and widow of Elwood Pessagno, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 27, 2016. She is survived by her three daughters, Bobbie Wrenn, Margie Bednarik, and Mary “Pug” Jones, her six Grandchildren, eight Great-Grandchildren, and one Great-Great Grandchild. Myrtle was born and raised in Anacostia, Washington, D.C., and later lived in Suitland and Temple Hills, Maryland. During her life, Myrtle devoted many hours helping at the rectory of St. Teresa’s church in SE, Washington, DC. Myrtle was also devoted to the mission of Poor Clare Sisters, a mission of providing gifts of prayer, simplicity, community and joy. This was in keeping with Myrtle’s vision of how she lived her life with prayer, family and joy. Myrtle will be loved and missed by all. Family and friends will be received at Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, MD on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD.
