Nancy Lee Lowry age 75, of Clinton, MD died at University of Maryland Hospital Center on December 14, 2013. Nancy was born on October 13, 1938 in Washington, DC, the daughter of Alva Mae Teeple and Arthur Sheridan. Nancy graduated from Anacostia High School in 1957. She married Charles Simpson Lowry in 1957, together they had four children. Nancy was a homemaker until she and her husband started Lowry’s Appliance Service. After her husband became disabled, she started as a part-time worker for the Federal Government. Nancy was an Employee Specialist for the Naval Research Lab for most of her career and retired from the Social Security Administration. Nancy enjoyed doing crafts in her spare time. She and her daughter Marikay had a small business called “Dabbles” where they sold their creations at craft fairs during the holidays. For 12 years, Nancy decorated a Christmas tree for Hospice of Charles County Festival of Trees in memory of her husband. Nancy's true love and what she was most proud of was her family. She is survived by her daughters Marikay Chaney Califati, her husband Vito and their daughters Eryn and Reagan Chaney of Clinton, Maryland; Robin Pevarnik, her husband Tom and their son Brian of Fairfax, Virginia; Kimberly Lukas, her husband Mike and their son Kristopher of LaPlata, Maryland; and Jodi Smallhorn, her husband John “Butch” and their children Colin, Nathan and Alyson of Brandywine, Maryland. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Lowry, her parents Alva and William Mundy, and her brothers Robert and Dennis Mundy.
