Nellie C. Mawson

Nellie C. Mawson, 94, of Lothian, MD passed away on March 31, 2021 in Leonardtown, MD. Born on August 21, 1926 in Washington, D.C. she was the loving daughter of the late Logan Kline and Catherine Mundy Kline. Nellie enjoyed playing bingo and the lottery, reading, listening to music, loved her clown collection and especially spending time with her family. Her all-time favorite saying was, “If you can’t nothing nice say nothing at all.” Nellie is survived by her children: Patricia Tippett (Robert), Debbie Smith (Earl) and Steven Mawson. 43 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Nellie is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Mawson and children; Linda Jean Day, Barbara Garrison, Judy Asmussen, Mary Trejo, Vicky McKissie, Thomas Richard Mawson, and John Robert Mawson as well as her siblings; Joan Earnest, Betty Bullard, Janet Earnest, Peggy Flippo and Logan (Buddy) Kline. The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens Cemetery 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.
