Nicholas Leighton Hileman

Nicholas Leighton Hileman, 38, of Chandler, AZ (formally of Waldorf, MD) died suddenly on Friday, January 6, 2017 at his home in Chandler, AZ. Nick was a graduate of Westlake High School (Class of 1996) and attended Cornell University before transferring to the University of Maryland College Park where he graduated in 2001. Nick is survived by his wife Shea O’Connell, and his son, Leighton Nicholas Hileman, of Chandler, AZ; his parents Melinda and Larry Hileman, of Severna Park, MD; his sister Kristin Hileman-Adams and her husband Wes Adams also of Severna Park, MD; mother-in-law Jean O’Connell of Chandler, AZ; father-in-law William O’Connell and his wife Kathy O’Connell of Stony Brook, New York; Brother-in-law Ryan O’Connell and his wife Lyndsey O’Connell of Chandler, AZ; Liam O’Connell and his wife Lauren O’Connell of North Bellmore, New York; six nephews- Wesley and Colton Adams, James, Eamon, Nathan and Kyle O'Connell- and a niece Sabrina Lourie. Nick was pre-deceased by his brother Larry Eugene Hileman, Jr. Nick enjoyed, reading, card games, the beach, and video games. He enjoyed playing with his nephews and spending time with his niece and was a devoted "Uncle Nicky." He was in love from the minute he met his soulmate and future wife, Shea O'Connell, and was excited to be a father to his only child and namesake, Leighton. Nick enjoyed his weekly hikes up Camelback Mountain with his group from Chandler Valley Hope (CVH) and all the love and support he received from CVH staff and alumni and his friends and family. He enjoyed what was to be his last visit to celebrate the holidays with his loving and devoted parents, his sister and her family, and his Maryland friends the week before he died. Nick was employed as an investment/financial planner in Phoenix, AZ and truly enjoyed interacting with and helping his clients. He had a loving and tender heart, an easy smile, and a great sense of humor and will be missed greatly by one and all who knew him.
