Odette Eugenie (Nouridjanian) Laughlin, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday November 22, 2019 in the loving care of her family at her home of 54 years in Clinton, Maryland. Odette is survived by her husband Richard of 64 years; her sons Ara, Buddy, and Mike; and her five grandchildren: Justin, Kelly, Eric, Tara, and Courtney. Odette was born on January 21, 1931 in Beirut, Lebanon to her father Garbis Nouridjanian and mother Arminee Bazoukian. She previously was a manager of a record store and later went to school to become a seamstress. In 1954 she met Richard and was married at The Eglise Saint Francois Parish in Beirut Lebanon in 1955. Following their wedding, Richard and Odette moved to the United States. They first resided in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to finish his tour in the Marine Corp. and then signed up with the Air Force which he retired in 1971. Along the way, Odette and Richard had their sons and they spent their life lovingly tending to the family. His military assignments took the family to many places around the world until they finally put roots down in Clinton, Maryland. Odette was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved cooking, sewing, knitting, and loved to travel and see the world. She delighted in sharing meals together with loved ones and spending time with family and friends. Her sweet, loving and dedicated presence will be missed by all family and friends who knew her.
