Ofelia Mendoza Reyes

Ofelia Mendoza Reyes, 93, of Charlotte Hall, Maryland, passed peacefully with her family by her side Wednesday, January 29, 2025.Ofelia was born in the Philippines June 9, 1931 to the late Felipe Mendoza and Soledad Canube. She grew up in a large family consisting of 8 children in Silang, Cavite and enjoyed having so many brothers and sisters. The household was always full of laughter and never really quiet. Ofelia married Narciso "Archie" Reyes after both graduated from the University of the Philippines. Both had decided that they wanted to have a family and wanted to move to the USA. They felt that this would be best for the future of their children. Aris and Tony were born in Manila, Philippines and the youngest, Aaron, was born in Washington, DC. Ofelia graduated from the University of the Philippines and graduated with a degree in Accounting. Shortly after moving to the US, ahead of Archie, Aris, and Anthony in 1968, she found gainful employment with Quota International. Quota International, Inc. is an international service organization that provides basic needs to women, children, the deaf, and hard of hearing in communities around the world. She was the executive accountant, CPA, at the organization's headquarters in Washington, DC Ofelia is survived by her sisters Nora and Mirla, her sons Aris (Dawn), Tony (Denise) and Aaron (Holly). She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great/great grandkids. Seeing all of them would always bring a smile to her face and enjoyed watching them do anything. She was frequently surrounded by many of them. Ofelia is predeceased by her parents, Felipe and Soledad, her siblings Nenita, Bella, Jesus, Urbano, and Dante and her husband Narciso/Archie Family and friends are welcome to gather at Lee Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday, February 14, 2025, from 1030 am with funeral services beginning at 1230pm. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Rd., Clinton, MD.
