Pacita “Pat” Zapanta Vitug, 95, passed away on June 6, 2023, in Huntingtown, Maryland. She was a loving mother, wife, sister and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family specially her grandkids. She was very fond of cooking and loves seeing her family enjoy her home cooked meals.
Born on January 20, 1928, in Santa Rita, Pampanga, Philippines, Pat was the daughter of Luis Zapanta and Ismaela Zapanta. She was an elementary school teacher for many years in the Philippines until she moved to the United States in 1986.
Pat is survived by her daughters Jeannette V. Navarro and Maria Corazon V. Miranda and son Jesus Z. Vitug Jr., her son-in laws Belarmino Navarro Jr. and Henry Miranda and daughter-in law Maria Dolores Lopez. She is also survived by her younger sister Socorro Z. Padre and younger brother Alfredo Z. Zapanta; grandkids Janine N. Poblete, Jasmine N. Poist, Jovan V. Navarro, Jehryco V. Miranda, Mariah V. Miranda and great grandkids Bellamina M. Navarro, Brooklyn A. Navarro-Poist, Julius Ernesto Jessie Poblete, Jolie Emilia Poblete and Dean Brayden Navarro.
The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736, on Thursday June 15, 2023, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM for viewing, funeral mass on Friday June 16, 2023 10:00 AM at Jesus the Divine Word Catholic Church Huntingtown MD and interment at Chesapeake Highlands Memorial Cemetery Port Republic MD at 11:30.
